Financial Officer                                                                                                                                        Ref PL-FA-002

Our client is a leading Oil & Gas company in Kuwait.

Reporting to Performance Unit Finance Manager.

Job Role: Analytical & Managerial

Key Accountabilities:

  • Management of Staff

Knowledge of department personnel's responsibilities that is sufficiently detailed to achieve an equitable work balance. Plan and implement staff development programmes to ensure deadlines can be met. Possess the skills required to step-in and help where work flow gaps or time constraints exits. Ability to design and implement procedures and practices that optimize work flow efficiency.

  • Financial Analysis Skills

Ability to review costs and explain actual vs Plan ( budget variances). Ability to prepare presentations and explain financial results to Team Leaders. Ability to consolidated general ledger data and verify the results reconcile to back to the detailed general ledger records. Ability to calculate yearly forecasts. Ability to plan and implement a Plan process to ensure reasonably accurate capex, opex and cash targets are established for future years.

  • Systems Development and Maintenance Skills

Ability to design and maintain systems to facilitate accounting and financial reporting processes. Ability to design reports and utilize electronic reporting tools to create standard and ad-hoc reporting applications.

  • Accounting Knowledge

Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Practices. Ability to apply accepted practices to day to day operational activities. Ability to defend accounting records during statutory and tax audit reviews.

  • Internal Control Strengths

Knowledge of internal control standards and the ability to apply those standards to day to day operations. Ability to plan work systems and procedures to ensure internal control compliance and proper segregation throughout the PU.

  • Leadership Skills

Ability to work with Team Leader's and effectively contribute to strategic analyses and activities. Ability to challenge and make recommendations regarding the Performance Unit strategic decision making actions, particularly in regards to the financial impact of those decisions.

Minimum of 5 years relevant experience, expected to manage Finance, Control & Accounting organization.

College Degree in Finance or Accounting, International Accounting certification preferred, Excellent in English communication.

Finance Manager - Food                                                                                        Ref PL-FA-003

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preparing all documentations relating to finances of the company.

  • Keeping records of all staff time sheets / leaves and preparing salaries of all staff according to the labor law and costing them to each locations.

  • Checking and controlling stores break-even and food costs on weekly and monthly basis and keeping history records regarding sales, operating costs, cash profits, net profits of each stores.

  • Liaison with the Bankers, Auditors, Board of Directors, Shareholders and Management on financial issues.

Responsibilities & Duties :

Manages and controls the functions of the Financial Accounting Dept. which includes finalization of the Quarterly and Annual Financial Accounts, Investment Accounting & Analysis, Maintenance and enhancement of the Establishment Chart of Accounts in addition to the processing of:  Payroll and staff payments, Operating expenses payments, Reconciliation of Accounts with our correspondent Banks, Fixed Assets Accounting & Inventory system, insurance coverage policies and Securities in Custody.

Finalizes the Quarterly, Semi Annual & Annual Audited financial statements which includes B/S, P&L, Cash Flow and accompanying Notes to the Board of Directors & Regulatory Authorities ensuring implementation of International standards.  This includes setting a plan in coordination with Senior Management, Liaison with Joint External Auditors to identify their requirements & respond to their queries in coordination with Divisions concerned, Finalization of annual schedule to Banks such as ( Loan Loss Provision, Investments, Capital Adequacy Liquidity, Revenue & Expenditures, etc....)
